The Millennial generation may be the most-talked about generation in history, but it’s 2018, and they’re all grown up now. The oldest members of their successors, Generation Z, are now in medical school and will soon be residents. Gen Z tends to be significantly more individualistic and career-driven than Millennials, and understanding their phigital, hyper-custom, FOMO world will help us to be more effective educators. At this 2018 FMEC Annual Meeting, this seminar provided background about the children of Generation X, and we collectively brainstormed strategies to interact effectively and meaningfully with these future family physicians.
