Escape rooms are immersive, hands-on experiences that are used in education both in and outside of medicine. They provide an exciting and stimulating environment for learners and are higher on Dale’s cone of learning, Bloom’s taxonomy, and Miller’s pyramid. However, the idea of creating an escape room can feel daunting. In this session, participants will first experience and then begin to create an escape room. Our escape room will use metateaching by using an escape room to teach educators how to create an escape room. The session will have practical and hands-on tools that will help participants implement what they have learned in their home institution.
